Choosing a college or university is a monumental decision for high school students. The uncertainty of adapting to a new environment and being away from family can feel overwhelming. That's why the SCSD and °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøIAB today hosted a LI College CTE Conference with a main theme of, "Why Long Island."
"There are amazing programs from each and every college and university here on Long Island," stated °ÅÀÖÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøIAB President, Phil Como.
Representatives from more than eight Long Island colleges/universities including Hofstra, Stony Brook and Adelphi were on hand to promote their schools and curriculum. Mr. Como says a goal of this conference was to keep our students on Long Island and fill the employment deficit that exists in specific industries.
After a Q and A session, students were able to chat one-on-one with the representatives.
